Had a chance to detail my S60R this weekend. Washed, clayed, applied Klasse using a Porter Cable random orbital, Klasse Sealant Glaze, and topped it off with a layer of P21s. Also clayed, AIO, and SG'd the wheels. I'm still learning with the camera, so keep that in mind when viewing the pics.

Re: (slowrey)

The last time I spent this much time on it was the weekend I bought the car a little over a year ago. I have been pretty busy, so other than washing the car on a normal basis I have only been able to clay and P21S in between. My paint cleaned up so easily it was amazing. I don't have a garage, so the car is constantly under the elements. Even when it dosen't rain you can still end up with dew all over your car in the morning (good ol' VA ), which ends up drying and leaving water spots. Just a big testament to how long the Klasse SG holds up.

Used some Wolfgang Deep Gloss sealant on mine at the weekend. This stuff is amazing - goes on nicely, leave it to cure and then the residue just wipes off with no effort at all. None of the hard work that the SG can give you.
I've demoted my SG to wheel duties now as I'm so impressed with the Wolfgang. Ease of use and stunning deep shine - what's not to like?

Pardon my ignorance, I've waxed a car before, but not in different stages like this. I've heard the term "clayed" a lot, but don't even know what it is. Also, what is AIO, SG, and P21s? I assume P21s is a sealant, who makes this? Sorry, but I'm a newbie at detailing, and i've owned my R for 6 months and still havent done more than hand wash Don't worry, I have been taking care of the interior though.

You can buy this stuff from most of the car care product suppliers. All it is is a bar of clay that you gently glide across the paint. To do this you have to lubricate the paint. Most people use some sort of quick detailing spray to do this, but you can also use plain water. Just make sure the paint is wet before you clay that area. When you are done the paint feels as smooth as glass.
AIO = a product called Klasse "All-In-One". You can apply it by hand or machine and it acts as a mild cleaner/polish.
SG = Klasse "Sealant Glaze", you apply this after the AIO for a deeper shine a lot longer protection.
P21S = a carnuba based wax, which can protect the paint, but in this case is used as a finishing touch to add a little more shine.
About 95% of the info I know about detailing comes from this site:
http://autopia.org
You can find an answer to pretty much any detailing question imaginable there, including definitions of all these acronyms.
