For some reason the pictures are not working, you might want to check the address again... You can edit your original post and fix the address.
-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 02-10-2001).]

I can see the pictures now! Nice car! I think that the bodykit looks great and understated. It looks like you lowered the car just enough. The tint job and M3 style mirrors look good as well. Do you have some type of covers over the headlights?
How did they color match the plastic trim? It looks great. Did they have to take the pieces off of the car and then paint them? They used special paint I assume?
I also think that some larger alloy wheels will make it look even better! What kind are you planning on getting? The wheels you have right now are Volvo Crater 7x16 right? Overall, excellent looking car!
-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 02-10-2001).]

I have the headlight protectors bought from the volvo main dealer over the headlights.
The plastic strips i think were sanded, primered, and paint on the car as the strips were stuck on with glue(why did you do that volvo?)The work was carried out by my local accident and repair shop.
You are right, they are the craters. I've got some 8x17's on order and should be here soon.
These are the alloys i am getting

Car looks spectactular!
I'm becoming more and more convinced that 7x16 is the right size wheel for me ... I would have never guessed that wheel looks so good on the car but it looks absolutely hot.
I wish they made a 20mm spring set or hopefully that coilover setup that Carlos mentioned from Apex will permit a 20mm setting. 35mm might be too much for me
The Crater alloys do look great but they are a real bastard to clean. Takes about 20 minutes per wheel to do a nice job with them.
You would be surprised at how little difference a 20mm drop would give you, the closest to those specs you wanted was a set of Eibach springs, think they were a 35mm drop all round.

Yeah, I agree that 20mm is not that much (2cm). but the drop is not necessarily what I'm looking for. What I really like is a stiffer spring rate rather than lowering the car.
I had Eibachs on my A4, and it was advertised as being a drop of 1.2" in the front and 1.4" in the rear. After the springs settled, it ended up being about 1.7" front and 1.8" rear, and that turned out to be a big problem (I can't get in my garage anymore!) The eibach spring rates weren't all that much stronger than my stocks either.

Rob,
Those alloy wheels that you are thinking about getting look great, and easier to clean. The hard to clean award has to go to the "Arrakis" S80 wheels! Looking forward to seeing your car with new wheels!
-Drew

Rob,
Those 8x17 VIP wheels do look great on the S40! Appearently, they were manufactured by OZ Racing for VIP. Are you going to be getting the Silver or Titanium finish?
-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 02-22-2001).]

I'm going for the Silver finish. I've been informed that they are somewhere between VIP and London, that means i should be getting hold of them real soon.
Any recommendations on tyres(tires)? Have my eyes on Bridgestone SO2 or Goodyear Eagle F1's.

Are you planning on getting 235/45/ZR-17 size tires? I would probably go with Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position S-02 tires, because they have been getting really great reviews. I think that the Goodyear Eagle F1 is good as well, but it is way too overpriced in it's class and size IMHO.
1. Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position S-02
2. Goodyear Eagle F1
3. Michelin Pilot Sport
4. Yokohama AVS Sport
5. Dunlop SP Sport 9000
-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 02-13-2001).]

Wahay my alloys have arrived today. Have some tyres on order and should be here on Monday, i've decided to go with the Michelin Sport.
I'll post some photos up as soon as the weather is decent enough to grab a shot or two without ruining the camera. Hope to have them up around the end of the week

The first shots are gone again. Since I host most of my shots on geocities as well, I'd sure like to find out what's up with that server. You can view them manually, but not on this forum. Anybody have a clue?
- Darell

Geocities does not allow other people to use images placed on their server to be viewed on a non-geocities.com server. You should try out another free place such as Crosswinds or ProHosting (recomended).

Thanks for the other free sites to try. Geocities USED to work fine.
Sorry for the off-topic-edness of this, but it looks like it may help lots of people here.
Grrr....looks like prohosting and fortunecity don't work either. Man, how do you get good stuff for free these days?
- Darell
[This message has been edited by darell (edited 02-27-2001).]

If anybody is keeping score - Prohosting DOES NOT allow you to post files hosted by them. I just asked, and that was the official response.
- Darell
