I wanted to ask what phones people are using with Volvo Bluetooth kit.

The problem is my wife's Sony Ericsson Z525a cell phone. The first one she had worked great with no problems. Unfortunately she damaged it and was given another new one of the same model. This second one started to revert the call from the car to the phone randomly. She would be talking and then suddenly the phone call would be transfered to the phone. We ended up getting another brand new Z525a and this third model is doing the same thing.

I talked to Sony and there are no software updates for this phone. The dealer told me that sometimes when the phone signal is weak the car system will revert the call to the phone. Anyone have the same problem. Our carrier is Cingular.

I am thinking of getting her another phone type but I want to make sure there are going to be no issues down the road. Any suggestions?

Since the Volvo kit is just a de-badged Motorola kit, you certainly can't go wrong with a Motorola handset. I've successfully used several Motorola's with our XC90- My wife has a KRZR, my daughter has a RAZR, and I've been using my Q, SLVR, and several Linux-based Motorola handsets with our XC90's bluetooth. No dropped calls, no switching between car and handset.

Thanks for info, I think her next phone is going to be a Motorola it looks like the safe way to go.

Good point and similarly you may want to try calling Motorola for help since Volvo didn't offer much.

I use a 7250 Blackberry in my XC90 with no problems at all.

Anyone using a BlackBerry Pearl?

I had no issues with my BlackBerry 7100 but the new Pearl did not work the first time. The Pearl is being replaced as I suspect it is faulty (it did not connect with anything Bluetooth).

Let me know what happens with the Pearl. I just got an 8800 and they are VERY similar

Yeah, I was choosing between the Pearl and the 8800 and ultimately went for the Pearl. Will keep you posted. Should get the replacement in a day or two.

All is well now. I got the replacement Pearl yesterday and it paired up without any issues and works beautifully.
