PH(EV) Daytona EV vs. Volvo to quiet?

Hej

the Dodge Charger Daytona EV is currently in the media here because it's apparently too quiet when driving slowly. This makes me think - Volvo's PHEVs also don't make any noise, and I've had some strange experiences myself when driving at 20 km/h and the surroundings don't hear the car - I don't find this optimal in terms of safety. Or could it be that Volvo PHEVs make sounds in the US? Why is it an issue with the Dodge now and not with PHEVs? It would be the same danger.

It may be regional, but I can confirm that at least in the USA, the modern Volvo PHEVs do make an artificial noise sound while travelling at low speeds on electric-only. It sort of sounds like white noise, not alien mothership like some car brands!

So I would be happy if the Volvo made a pleasant sound, but apparently it doesn't in the EU, or at least I haven't heard one yet.
And I find it dangerous because people don't expect a car to be coming and are often startled. On the other hand, bicycles, e-bikes, or scooters don't make sounds either, and they can go quite fast too.
I've already startled quite a few people with it; once I think I rolled behind someone for 2 minutes... until I then pressed my mode selector to Polestar, thanks to the Bastuck with open flap in dynamic mode (and especially cold start is quite loud) - he really got a fright then :D

Those spaceship sounds are crazy - I find them very embarrassing. It would be an exclusion criterion for me not to buy that electric car; the Tesla one also sounds pretty weird.
