Re: Performance Clutches (Predator)

I have the Spec stage II+ in my T5.
After about a 1200 mile break in period it works great. You have to be a liltte more careful that with the stock clutch as it grabs more and if you get lazy and let it out too quickly you can cause quite a jerk.
During the break in period, the car was extremely hard to get into first or reverse, the other gears were hard as well but not nearly as much as first or reverse.
Spec clutched are available from a lot of different online retailers and from Spec themselves so be sure to shop aroung for the best price

Re: Performance Clutches (jstro)

they say "Stage Three: High-clamp pressure plate, 3-piece disc with carbon or ceramic material, bearings and a tool. Ultimate Street/strip clutch - Sharp but smooth engagement with light pedal!" so in reality is not like this? i want a clutches from ceramic material , but i want to drive the car every day , like a normal car

Re: Performance Clutches (Predator)

Lots of folks are running the stage 3+ and no one seems to have any drive-ability issues. I would recommend the stage 3+ over the stage 3 as it is a full face design.
I had the same concerns as you as far as would I like a racing clutch in my daily driver which is why I went with the stage 2+. If I were to do it all over again I probably would go for the 3+.
Another consideration - since you are posting this in the "R" forum I am assuming you have an "R" so would recommend the 3+ to accommodate the added HP

I'll have a 3+ installed within the next week or so.
I would stay away from the puck design and go for a full face.

Stage 2, and 3 will have the Puck design.
While the + models are the full face design, its quite a bit smoother.
