Greetings, purchased the wife a new to us/used 2006 XC90 a few weeks back. I am in the process of fixing some of the nagging things in need of attention such as cutout in rear bumper cover, broken trim, one key, etc. One thing that has me vexed is the passenger front speaker cover has a pretty extreme dent in it. Went to the stealer today to get a replacement and was told you could only by an entire door panel to replace the cover.
Is this true? Has anyone else encountered this problem as the search function did not provide any help. I appreciate any guidance anyone could provide. Many thanks.
I have found that dents are really common in the front door speakers. I have fixed them using a paperclip. Partially unroll half of the clip, then using needle nose pliers, make a 90 degree bend a few millimeters from the tip. Insert the tip in the speaker grill in the center of the dent and pull.

Re: (matwags)

Brilliant, thanks for the tip. That pulled a 3 inch crease and pretty nasty dent right out. The "metal" in the grill has pretty good memory so you can place a fair amount of pressure to get it to where you want it. Only down side is I bent the paper clip too high up and pushed some of the fabric backing away from the cover. Next time I have the door panel off some spray adhesive should take care of that.
Many thanks.
