Just yesterday, something happened to the passenger side door in my 1998 V70R. (I have a profile on cardomain.com. my profile is under Jnell20)
Has anyone had this happen to them before. I think some super glue will fix it but it is bizarre... you cant get out from the inside. The handle is stuck, you cant pull it out. Frustrating... I fixed it twice but it doesnt want to say put...

So the handle/locking mechanism is malfunctioning? I was expecting to hear that the door no longer opened or closed or prevented the outside from coming inside. I'd need more details to see what is actually happening.

Re: (PdangerP)

It is totally weird. the handle was stuck, you couldnt pull it out all the way to get out of the car from the inside. it shuts fine, and opens from the outside okay.
when i pulled the pannel off the door and looked at the handle itself, there is a small cylinder that sits between a rotating set of prongs. this is what keeps the latch working. the problem is the small cylinder is slipping out of place and not staying put. I would get it to work again, but when I screwed the handle housing back to the door, the latch would stick again. so today, i used a little bit of super glue and it seems to be working fine. although no one has been in my passenger seat and I am expecting it to break agian. My car has nearly 175,000 miles on it so I should not be suprised when something like this goes wrong. Volvos are pretty notorious for mishaps after 150thousand miles. Yay for me.
