Not many posts begin with this info: my girlfriend weighs between 130-135 lbs.
Yesterday in the middle of a four hour drive on the PA Turnpike, while she was seated in the front passenger seat, for no reason, the Passenger Air Bag Off light went on. I pulled off the highway and turned off the car and when I started it back up the indicator went off.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what have they done to correct it?
Thanks.

mine has had that same problem, except that it has happened to both a 135 lb female and a 170lb male.
As soon as I get a free day i'm going to the dealership, but any help on here would be awesome.

That is correct - the dealer first upgraded some software but then determined it needed a new sensor (which unfortunately they have to order).
BTW, Don Beyers Volvo (in VA) really treats their customers well!!

I'm having the same problem too. I'm going to try to get my car in for a few minor things (new wiper blades, squeaking brakes) this weekend, or whenever I get some time after finals end. Hopefully it'll just be a quick fix. I'd rather not wait for parts to be ordered.

Re: (Dygitalpmp)

On the passenger seat sensor problem, I returned to the dealer because they had to order the part. Once they got to the sensor in the seat, they noticed that the wire to the sensor was loose and that that was the cause of the malfunctioning light and not a defective part.
