Well couple weeks ago i was rear ended coming off the high way. Car has been totaled and check has been cut.

Im looking at a C70 and was wondering if the engine from my 2000 XC70 would swap over to a 1999 LPT C70?

Also are the hoods the same because they look very much the same to me?

I plan on taking all the wood grain including steering wheel any problems here?

The 2000 engine has manual valve lash adjusters where the 1999 had hydraulic. Nonetheless they can be interchanged.

Both have CVVT on exhaust.

I don't think the hoods are interchangeable; guards definitely not.

Front suspension may have different control arms; do a visual on the mounting system to subframe.

Struts are the same. Springs of course aren't.

Dashboard may be shared....

Hope this helps

LCAs are different. Only the head is different between 99 & 00. Every module/sensor is identical. Rear suspension is different. Transmission is different only because it has an angle gear output. Trim/wheel/etc... are identical. The hoods may be identical because the P80 front end is shared with every P80.

Fenders are definitely a different part number; check your Vida guys

Hood may also be different to accomodate fender profile.

2000 plus blocks are different part number and have piston cooling by means of oil squrting through new machined holes.

They're still imterchangeable though if you swap heads to a '99

Hoods are identical, fenders are not. Dash is identical.

I used an XC hood on my 04 C70 the first time I rebuilt it.

The wood grain trim is the same on both cars but the center console is slightly different behind the armrest so it's not just a console swap, you'll have to swap the trim itself, which is not hard I've heard.
