Hey guys,

Just another issue I ran into today. I drive to work today, but stop at a gas station on the way near my workplace. I go to reverse to get out of the parking lot, and I hear grinding. The car is also very hard to move backwards when hitting the gas (it requires way more gas to go back any). I thought I was out of luck until I thought of an idea (by this time I figured out it was my parking brake because it was barely coming up and seemed locked in place handle-wise). I pulled up as hard as I could on the brake handle, and drove forward a tiny bit and I heard it go in place and felt it go in place through the handle.

After that, all was fine. What caused this to happen? It seems like it's time to replace something back there, but what?

PS: No, I didnt have my brake pulled when I parked at the gas station initially. There was no need to mess with it at all.

The brake shoe lining has come off.
Time to replace the parking brake shoes. Don't wait as this common issue has caused a lot of damage when it breaks apart inside.
