Naturally, I like everyone else who ever drove a XC90, have difficulty seeing behind the vehicle when backing up. I've looked at lots of aftermarket camera systems, integrated into the RVM or whatever, but I wanted to ask if anyone has retrofitted their XC with a particular system that works well or if there is a factory upgrade kit.
regards, Mr. P

The Volvo backup camera isn't available yet. You need to have an XC90 w/ Nav for it to work.
It is made for the 2007 XC90's, I don't know yet if it can be fitted to earlier XC90's.

Re: Park assist camera (VolvoMax)

Or, you could swap out the pre-eminent factory stereo system in the pre-2007 cars for something like an Alpine IVA-W200 and add a back-up camera. In the bargain, you get a superior audio system, integrated iPod capability, XM radio (which the 2007s won't have) and an arguably superior navigation solution.... Just a thought.

I would be interested in adding this if/when available
so, put it in reverse, and wait a few seconds for the screen to rise?
That does not seem appealing

IPS sells one that includes a small colour LCD monitor for $195. http://www.ipdusa.com/Products...D=629
If you have NAV you can use that screen buy installing either an aftermarket composite video to RGB adapter (hard-wired) or Mgr Eg's amazing all-in-one A/V input system that uses the HU 803/850's TV input to pass video to the NAV screen!
LTA
