Hi guys.

Looking to paint the top engine cover of my 2.4 v70.
I understand it will have to be heat resistant paint of some sort, maybe
the paint used for brake callipers? Has anyone got any pictures of this kind
of thing or any kind of recommendations? I'm thinking of a dull yellow.

Duplicolor (sold at pep boys sometimes) sells a wax and grease remover which would be a good first step before painting to clear any oil off of it.

Wipe it down with acetone to remove any wax/oil, then spray it with a couple coats of primer, couple coats of color, and a couple coats of clear. Any regular paint will do, you don't need high heat paint for the engine bay plastics.

These are my engine covers that I painted as I described above.

I have my cover and other parts in the engine bay painted with the stock Saffron paint for my 98R, been painted for a couple of years without any issue. Still shiny!
