I replaced my spark plugs today and got to thinking... The engine would be a lot cleaner looking if I color matched it to the car. Now for the question.. Is there a High temp resistant, plastic friendly spray paint that closely matches the Nautic Blue of my 99 S70?

I don't think the plastic cover gets hot enough to need special paint, any good paint should work

Advanced Auto, here in VA, has a fairly decent variety of hi-temp paints and I think there may be a navy blue shade. The hi-temp paints will have some flex agents in it that may make it more durable under the hood.
Krylon makes plastic paint for outdoor chairs. Home Depot sells it and there are a variety of colors.

I had thought about using Krylon Fusion, because I know it is a GOOD plastic paint, and they have a navy blue that is very similar. But I did not think it would hold up to the temps.
So you guys don't think the top plastics will get that hot huh?
I may just have to buy some on Monday then. Polish the down pipe, anodize the fuel rail and paint the plastic covers... That would give the engine a nice clean look.

Awesome deal. I am trying to get some Nautic Blue in a spray can locally, for some other repairs. If I can, I may just paint them with that!

I will go look at the krylon paints and see what they have. I figure I will paint the timing belt cover and the spark plug cover, to keep them looking the same.

You don't want to do the T-Belt cover, too rough a finish and it's the last thing you want to accentuate

I had planned on giving both of them a couple coats of sand-able primer to smooth them out first. But I will give it a good look first.
