Someone suggested painting the fog covers and lower grille, so I got to it. I took some pictures without the lower grille on because i thought seeing the intercooler was cool...tell what you think. Next week I should have some more stuff to show off.
Yesterday:

Painted fog covers without lower grille:

Painted fogs and lower grille:

WAY better bro. Next thing should be to paint the bottom body pieces to either match the black or to match the paint.

Re: (carreragt7)

Looks really nice! I like the 'de-chromed' look.
Like Carrera said, I also think colour matching the lower valence would look good

Maybe you might want to try putting the front plate where the lower grille is. Might make your car more unique plus gives a cleaner look to the bumper.

I might put it on one of the fog covers like a wrx, or something f that actually uses the intercooler unlike my 2.4. Hey carrera how are those ms design skirts looking? LOL

I want to paint my fog surrounds to match my black grille and black Bell intercooler - can you post some info about how the fogs came out and what processes and products you used?

I used the Krylon black paint for plastics that I used for my grille. It says you dont need to sand or prime it, but its on you, I didnt. To remove the fog covers get a flathead or something like it and go to the side of the light cover opposite of the actual light, where the cover starts the blend with the lower grille. You should easily be able to get the screwdriver behind that part and pop it out and you can just tug on the rest and it will come out. It pops if with a little force just as easy as it popped out. The lower grille can be tricky, it uses a fish hook locking mechanism, just look at is and you can see. I used 4 coats of paint on each the used the ACE hardware brand of instant drying clear coat spray paint and sprayed a bunch evenly to protect it a little. I waited for it to dry completely and put on plastic glove (smudged a little print on my grille) and then popped them back in.

I think it looks a lot better when the top edge of the plate does not overlap the bottom of the grill. Try this....flip the H-Bracket upside down and pick a different set of holes that best line up and use a vice to bend the bracket arms as needed.
Ta-Daa!!! Better looking plate position without redrilling. Not a major change, but I think it looks better.

Moving the plate down was the first thing I did when I got the car! Are we really that neurotic...
Definitely keep the center grille in place, it looks like someone stole it without it...

After removing the grille, can the chrome trim be separated from the actual grille part? I'm considering blacking out the chrome, but I don't want to black out the interior grille part. That way it still matches the lower plastic grilles. Thoughts?
