My car has now given me the code "P2111 - throttle actuator control system - stuck open" twice now. I reflashed my car the first time with my RICA unit and the problem went away, but now my RICA unit gets stuck in the "please wait" screen after selecting "Program Car." So I cleared the code with me OBDII tool, but it still runs really rough (barely running) and the code instantly returns, along with the MIL lit and the screen for reduced engine perfomance.
A google search on the innernets pulled up a post on some non-Volvo site from a guy with a 2002 S60 with the same code and symptoms. A recall was mentioned, and it called for the throttle body to be removed and cleaned. The recall also mentioned this could happen when the car wasn't driven much, and I only drive mine maybe once a weekend since January.
I just had the intake pipe off that connects to the throttle body to have a bung welded on for a second aquamist jet (just tapped into the pipe before, and I wanted to do it right since I don't need the car every day), and I'm not looking forward to doing all of that again. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
