#1 charcoal canister. When the ECM decides, it will close valve #4, open #25 to draw off stored gas vapors from #1 into the engine driving down the road. ECM will run an evap tank system test at 2am or when it decides to check for any fuel tank system leaks. Valve 4 will pressurize the fuel system with 1-2 PSI or so.
ECM knows the fuel level. As the psi increases, valve 4 will pull more milliamps. ECM will monitor the milliamp draw. Once the milliamps are met with the fuel amount, the ECM will be satisfied that there are not any fuel tank system leaks. P0455 gross leak, missing fuel cap ect is set because there are not any extra milliamps being drawn. We can assume from this code that you may have an evap system leak. Check the evap line in the red circle area at the right rear subframe bolt area for a torn, missing disconnected rubber hose. The rubber hose connects these 2 hard plastic lines. The rubber hose is not listed an any parts pics that I have ever seen for P2 cars. Rubber hose connection could have got bumped loose or not re-connected when the angle gear repair was done. The other thing that will set the P0455 code is #5 LDP is dead and not turning on.
FYI, filling up with gas, fuel tank air exits thru, #1, 30, 31, 32, 5, 4, 14, 15, 16, 17. 31&32 may not apply to this setup.
1/4" or 5/16" fuel vapor hose should fit the hard plastic line if needing to replace.
Can use hose clamps also.
ECM-P045500 EVAP emission system leakage registered (large leak/no flow). General fault information. Type of fault not specified., B8444S
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-P045500
Condition
Engine control module (ECM) checks sealing in the fuel tank system by, using the leakage diagnostics unit, pressurizing the tank system and at the same time monitor the pressure build-up. The pressure is a calculated pressure, calculated using measured power consumption on the pump.
If the pressure is stabilized and/or does not reach over 1500 Pa within 450 seconds, it is interpreted as a leakage bigger than 1.0 mm in diameter from the fuel tank system. Diagnostic trouble code for major leakage stored.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when leakage diagnosis is running.
Substitute value
Nothing.
Possible source
Tank cap not properly tightened or not in place.
Leaking tank, filler pipe, tank cap, canister, EVAP valve or lines between these components.
Fault symptom
Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
