SPA2 is a huge failure. It is advanced software and no one at Volvo is capable of leading that type of project.
Maybe Jim could be the right guy, but all others have zero experience with software development and SPA2 is about the most advanced thing to do and integrate.

The people before Jim who originally took the decision, with Håkan S as the CEO are most to blame, but even know Volvo simply don’t have what it takes.

Meanwhile Geely and the Chinese are running circles around Volvo. Looking at all fantastic tech and software China can produce it is obvious that Geely/Zeekr/ECarx could tap into that and let Mobileye do their thing which they are world class at and just add their own very good software development to.

Jumping in bed with Google, betting so hard on LiDAR it is not even optional, scrapping ICE cars prematurely etc. long list of poor decisions during Håkans time there.

Now he is at Polestar, another company run by the totally wrong profile.
