My outside temperature reading has been on the fritz lately... about half of the time when I start up the car I get a reading of like 30 something degrees with the snowflake. It has been in the 80s here for a few weeks now. The other half of the time, the temp seems to read pretty accurately. Any ideas?

Yeah, i know.. but better to use available threads about this problem instead of making a new..
then people get emails when replying to this thread.. so i thought that people that have done this mess with sensor maybe could help me with it
just snapped mirror backcovers plastic tabs.. damn hard to put the cover back together.. it just didnt work. so now its hanging loose.

Found this video on youtube explaining how to do.. but it just doesnt work!
it look so easy. My cover isnt "bendable" flexing when i push it together..
it feels and looks like the cover is not really fitting on my mirror.. maybe mirror have been in traffic accident or something..
or just the plastic cover have taken another shape the new ones is not cheap... just cant understand why they are so expensive.
i can paint it myself.. or i have a friend that are a car painter that can do it for me. But.. just a primed or used one is really expensive.

have been searching on youtube but it seems that it is hard to find a video how to do
just found one.. and that didnt work at all.
Haynes repair manual tells me to push from inside with thumbs and then just remove it.
That didnt work... only thing was to push with a screwdriver from inside
