Just so you know, this thread is 4 years old, many of these members are not here anymore. I, unfortunately, am not familiar with this issue.

Those covers are a pain in the ass to get on and off without destroying them. I usually align it and then give it a quick wack with the heel of my hand from front of the car towards the back.
