well, driving in DC...

gentleman in Odyssey decided to move from left lane into middle one... but I was there already.
Ouch.

Called Geico (other guy insurance), they called back that they will cover it.
Now, I will get my V to dealer first thing in the morning to get an estimate (clean, straighten, polish, check alignment, check the rim - he hit me into left front rim, and managed to scratch left side... I was moving, he was trying to get into my space.

Any other things I need to remeber tomorrow ?

Odyssey looks much worse - on top of it his passenger side door will not open....

Geico tried to steer me to Craftsman in Sterling; I will swing first through Don Beyer, where I got the car from, and ask their advice.

Man! that sucks! I give you credit for not beating him stupid.

umm....yeah, that would be an appropriate response to a mistake where no one was injured. Granted this was stupid and avoidable, but really.

Glad everyone is ok Kleks.

The lady in the Odyssey doesn't look too happy in that last pic.

You betcha.

By some magic token her doors were not opening... so she was stuck inside while we were exchanging insurance info, and taking pictures.

Let's see what will be the bill from dealer.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
The good news is that it looks mostly cosmetic. The bad new is that it looks like you got it from tip to tail...

Dont freak when you see the bill - it will likely include a complete repaint of the driver side of the car - looks like the "rub" may have been all the way down through the paint in some places.

I hope it all gets worked out quickly & painlessly.
Good luck! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Probably because she was screaming at her husband to stop shortly before he hit you.

That's just wrong. Another driver with their HUTA. My wife and I are always very wery of anyone driving a min-van, they always seem to be distracted by something - kids, phone, coffee, anything except driving.

If you want the job done right, there is only one place to take it - Wagonwork on Jeff Davis Hwy just a bit south of Crystal City. Talk to Chris and tell him Steve Seekins sent you. I have always taken my Volvos there - and never had a bit of trouble with the insurance companies for the work they do. If there are any adjustments needed after they get into the work, they work it out with the insurers.

On the other hand, I have also had Don Beyers (Alexandria) shop do some work and was not nearly as pleased with the result. Only drawback with Wagonwork is that they are always really busy and getting it scheduled may be a bit of a problem, but since your car is drivable, they can check it out and order what they need, and you can bring it in when they are ready to start working on it. They also have one of the best paint shops around the DC area.
