Oscar,
Just noticed these (new?) tires from goodyear. They seem extremely light: only 22 lbs for a 235/55H17. Combine that with one of the 20 lbs 17" sport edition wheels and I loose over 9lbs per wheel over my stock set up.
Any info on availability and how these tires handle?
I realize its a grand touring A/S, but they'd probably outhandle my pirelli S/Ts. It needs to be good in the wet though...
Will I notice a big difference (improvement?) by reducing the weight of the wheel/tire combo by that much?
Thanx!

Re: Oscar - Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge (pico de luuks)

Yes, they are going to be on the light side in this size. We have not seen our 1st shipment to date, there fore I have not had the chance to test them.
You would see a improvement in handling by reducing unsprung weight by that much.
How good (no pun) they they will be I simply do not know.

Re: Oscar - Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge ([email protected])

Oscar,
OK, this complicates things. I was going to order some Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S soon for my S60 T5 (215/55/16) but I was waiting for the Michelin rebate. They had one last year mid March to April 30th but there's been no sign of a rebate (promotion) this year. So I'm still waiting. (Oscar, any word on rebates you've heard about? Or price increases?)
The Exalto A/S has some great reviews on handling, but I wonder how well the ResponsEdge will compare (at a lower price, to boot.) But the ResponsEdge is listed as a touring tire, so I wonder if it would really compete with the Exalto A/S in the handling/feel category.
Oscar, any suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: Oscar - Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge (JPL Guy)

No info on rebates right now.
As for say which one would be better... I simply have no testing data to compare them with.
I can tell you I like the Exalto's, I have the PE2's on my wife's 02 Miata.
