jdhawes and I have had a recurring Check Engine Light problem. Both of us have had our injectors replaced twice. Both of us have had the s-s-s problem as well. We are told that the gas in Oregon is to blame for the CEL, though I suspect that the law requires Volvo to sell new cars in Oregon that can run without problems on the fuel sold in Oregon. I have had my intake system cleaned, including valves and ports decarbed at 12,000 miles. Dealer says the gas is to blame. He also says the gas in Washington is also a problem. Any other Oregon or Washington owners with similar experiences?

Re: Oregon and Washington owners (alderaan)

I dont live in Oregon or Washington but I am wondering:
Are all cars in oregon and washington having these problems? Lexus? Honda? BMW? etc..
Since they seem to know the cause, tell them to fix the damn problem!!

Maybe Scott Hart over in the IPD forum would have some useful input? IPD is in Oregon, right?

Yes, IPD's down in Portland. Contacting them is a great suggestion.
I'm not buying the gas blame. Washington and Oregon have a tremendous amount of Volvo, both old and new. I know for a fact that a '92 240, '93 850, '99 V70XC and an '04 S60 AWD have had no problems what so ever with the purported bad regional gas.

Re: Oregon and Washington owners (christophe)

cristophe, glad to hear you haven't had the problems I am dealing with. Herzog-Meier is my dealer and service provider. I believe they are honestly trying to get my car working properly, but the fixes to date, as well as their statements about the gas in Oregon, leave me wondering.
