Open/close windows via remote?

I came across this tread: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/...70159

Basically being able to open and or close all of the windows and locks via either the remote, or as VW does it, by inserting the key in the lock and turning and holding for 5 seconds. This was a great way to quickly cool down our Passat on hot summer days.

Is this doable? Europe only?

Seems like a Euro option only. I know the Euro S80 comes with this enabled from the factory. And after I asked my local dealer about it, they said that it wasn't available in the states. Don't know about Canada.

Its available - if you want to pay for it. it is a software to be loaded for the function to work.
I've never seen this mentionned anywhere, do you have more info?

Thanks!
Re: (Pinstripe)

talk to you service manager - they should know the details. if you want, i can maybe talk to mine and see what the part number is for it.
Part #?

We are talking about the same thing right? ie, a feature of the remote itself.
Re: (Pinstripe)

softwares have part #s here....its not the actual keyfob itself.

If you can get the part #, that would be really helpful. I don't understand how a luxury SUV does not have this feature (along with no auto up/down of rear windows).

I asked my parts dept. about this one, and they said that (on the '09 XC90's at least) it is a pre-installed function, so no programming is needed. It is just a matter of having them turn the function on. I am not sure since when this has been the case, though.

EDIT: They got back to me with a definite answer; it can be done, but the computer would have to be reprogrammed completely in order for it to have this feature, which costs quite a bit...
