Got some leave saved up, so that means tourist time. Planning on doing a trip (along with stops at various locations) with the farthest spot being Toronto starting from Florida.
Now, I've browsed some articles around the internet and some things need doing. I've most of the stuff already to ease my mind such as:
Triangles, reflective: 2
Tow rope, 10 ft, 8000lb capacity: 1
Anchor shackle with removable pin: 1
Jumper cable: 1
Tire gauge, digital: 1
Flashlight: 1
Still need (and have some time) to get the rest of the stuff. Would've liked a full size spare but no can do. Wipers, sparks, oil and tire rotation need to be done.
Now, what I was meaning to ask was, for those who have done long trips already, any vehicle specific things I might want to look after while on the road?

Check for weather / road closures.
Also check your tire wear, that time when I first bought this car, I drove it from IL to CA. Think we hit something on the road and got a flat and I ended up changing all 4 tires at some small town (luckily they had my size) due to the wear level on them already.
Also brought along some in car entertainment, ipod FM transmitter and car charger for laptop and cell phone, possible wireless internet subscription.

Re: (fone)

Well now,
Happy 4th to everybody. I'm currently in Asheville, NC, last leg of my little trip and I'm concerned. See, I just got that oil separator trouble a lot of people had been getting hit with and I've about 800 miles between me and home.
I looked around the forums for those topics but I wasn't able to get a consensus. A couple of people were talking about gaskets and seals possibly bursting if not taken care of soon? Could it be driven carefully with the dipstick unsealed all the way to FL?
Ideas, tips, comments anybody?

With the dipstick popped you may be able to make it without any adverse effects other than a CEL if its not already set. I personally would maybe find a dealer near by and get it covered under warranty. If thats not an option then you can try and make it home

Re: (ForceFed Motorsports)

I would've loved to have dropped by a dealer and get it fixed, but 4th of July and all, so everybody was closing early and they're closed tomorrow too. My original itinerary had me leaving on the 5th, so unless something else happens I should be able to limp home by Monday.
And yep, got the light already.
So. To recap. Dealer heavily recommended but otherwise cross your fingers and pop the dipstick? Please excuse if I'm being repetitive, I just don't want to mess the car up even worse.
