ok I admit, I have no clue what I'm doing! (56k entensive)

Is the transmission drain plug in both the GT and MT in the same place? (does that mean I have to take off the left front wheel?) Or am I missing it?

uh the drain plug for a manual is on the drivers side if you take the wheel off it is right in front of you on the bottom side of the transmission.
The side your pictures are from are of the engine and bevel gear not the transmission. The bevel gear has no drain plug.
Wow. Thanks for all the info!! I'm out right now. I will take more pics when I go back home. I will also try to take pics so we can compose a DIY for the new master list.

best guess on just a drain is between 4-6 since a few quarts do get stuck in the tourque converter.

Re: (Chilled Man)

Again, thanks for all the help. Thanks Justin for the pic.. I was actually looking for a larger bolt...didn't realize it was a thinner. As I undid the drain bolt, the whole time I was thinking, "please don't fall in, please don't fall in" next thing I know....Ploop! right into the bucket with trans fluid. Anyway, here are some pics.
Drain

Fill

So this was just a drain and fill, not a flush. I know there was a VS writeup on that somewhere.

Pretty much. I drained it, filled it. Drove around for a bit, repeated it. Not a full flush, but after the second time, fluid looked very clean.

Hmmm...I may go this route as well. Just called the local Volvo dealer and they quoted a $200 price for a full flush. How much did you spend on fluids and total time involved? Trying to figure out if its cheaper to pay someone to do it although I would like to take this on myself.
Thanks.
BW

Even that isn't cheap.
