The disconnected harness on the right of the cracked PCV hose is apparently for a pre-heater. It must have been disconnected by no fault of mine when trying to maneuver the airbox out. It must have been disconnected for some time now because of some oil residue inside the connector.
Anyone know what the purpose of this 'pre-heater' in the oil trap is for?

No that's just the oil trap line. Check SS for posts on PCV of flame box for pic intensives posts. There is no pre-heater. The gases are coming str8 from the cylinder so its not gonna need to be any hotter than that.

It looks like you have the OEM crankcase hose. Get that upgraded if you box isnt sludged out yet. The new hose is more rubberry and wont crack. Should last forever then.

Confirmed with my tech. It is indeed a pre-heater to evaporate of all the condensation build up.
Good to know  good luck on putting in the new PCV system:beer:
