All oils are going to have some blow off. I was just curious if any conclusions could be made about synthetic versus conventional oil build up in the trap, but since you don't know the history, that's not possible. It would also be very dependent on the operating conditions, too; so, in hindsight, probably not something easily assessed.

Given the location of the trap and the difficulty replacing or cleaning it, it would have been nice to know if one type of oil significantly reduced buildup.

Are you getting any smoke on start up, acceleration, what does your tailpipe look like? Any excessive soot?

If your rings or valve seals are leaking, switching oils is not going to stop it--unless you go to a much thicker oil and never drive it long enough for the oil to thoroughly heat up and thin out...
