I have a problem with the oil pressure on my volvo 440 turbo. When it is first started up the needle on the oil pressure gauge is up in the white section near to the 3 dots at its widest point but i get smoke from the exhaust. But when the pressure is just touching the red there is no smoke from the exhaust. Can anyone help as I need my car everyday for work and it is also my competition car so i don't want anything to happen to the engine. Any ideas please
Thanks
Dave.
http://www.eastcoastchoons.co.uk

Re: oil pressure (volvo440)

No not tested cylinder pressure as the car still pulls with the same amount of speed. is there any where on the engine to turn this pressure down?

Re: oil pressure (volvo440)

You can`t do it by hand , but I think you must check the ventilation engine carter sistem.
Are there any drops of oil near the oil input ? If they are present , it necessary to clean the ventilation carter sistem ( I`m not sure that the name of this sistem I call right , but try to understand me!!)
