My 96 850 Turbo is leaking oil very slowly from somewhere under the car on the drivers side. Its only a few drips a day but it adds up and I notice my oil level going down which scares me. Its not coming from the bolt that used to drain the oil, its somewhere more towards the drivers side. Does anyone know what this problem might be?

Either your turbo return line or seal (cheap) or it's the
rear main seal, not so cheap.
Probably a clogged breather box (PCV system)!
You neglected to post your mileage but if it's over 100-110K and the breather system has not been serviced, this is the usual result.

Re: Oil Leak? (JRL)

JRL I am having the same problem on my 850T. How would I check for the cheap things first? I really don't want to deal with the rear main seal. My S70nont is also starting so would it even have the cheap options?

Clean it all off then drive it for 50-100 miles and check the area again. It then should be obvious.

Re: Oil Leak? (JRL)

See, this is where I really sound dumb, but why I come to you, where would I want to look for the obvious other than under the car on the engine. Or is that where I would look? I am having it show up right on the seem where the trans and engine bolt together. The rear main seal would leak where? etc. Sorry if I am not being clear. I greatly appreciate the help!

Re: Oil Leak? (JRL)

That's what I have been afraid of. I will clean it and report back in a few days when I get a chance to clean it up.
