Hey guys, I bought my S60R about a month ago and noticed a nice oil leak starting up. I don't know much about Volvos yet but this happened on my 350z before and I had to change out the valve covers and all. It isn't leaking over on the side with the cam gears, it seems to be worse around that black hose/the oil fil cap. It also only seems on the front side of the motor, not behind it. Does anyone know what this is coming from? Valve cover gasket? Pcv? Any ideas would be appreciated. I don't want to take it to the dealership so help me out. Thanks!

So you guys think it could be as simple as replacing that little hose and the oil cap gasket? Does IPD or anyone sell these?

dougy is right. 99% chance if you do those two things the leak will be gone. i am guessing your leak is oil cap gasket becuase of how much is on top of your cover. but it could still be that pcv hose depending on the way its broken. i had bunch of oil under that cover on top of the head and in my case it was the pcv hose that was the culprit. this is the link to my thread. the hose is not difficult to replace just in a difficult place to get to. some guys claim to be able to do it without removing anything. i had to remove my air box but then it was simple. is your pcv hose plastic or rubber?

Judging by your photo's you have the older weak style PVC hose and will need to replace with the newer one. I had the same problem, just not as bad as yours. Replace the hose, a new oil gasket and clean up the spills and you should be all set.
