I went out to my car earlier, and there was a puddle of oil under my car. I looked at it, and looked under the car the best I could without a jack, and I could see oil on the oil filter cap.

I started the car up, and I looked under the car again, and it started dripping out quickly from the oil filter cap. ~1 drop every second or so. It started pooling pretty quickly. It just started happening, and the last time I drove the car was on Tuesday, and there wasn't anything out of the ordinary that happened.
I'm really not sure what to do. I'll try and get a pic up later when I can actually get under the car, but for now there is nothing I can do.
Does anyone have a diagram of what it looks like around the oil filter cap to see what it could be from? I changed the oil about a week and a half ago, going from 5w30 to 10w30 for the summer (Mobile1). I really don't understand what it could be.
I am at school, and I don't know any shops around the area in smithfield, RI that I would want to take it to just to put it on a lift to see what is wrong.
Thank You
-Cory

Maybe its just the filter cover? I mean it is plastic.
There is a guy on VS that works at Barry's Volvo down the street from me here in Dartmouth. I don't know if that is any help to you. Let me know what happens.

Wow, huge relief. I was stupid and put an extra gasket on the oil filter cap, and it cause it to leak oil. Everything is OK!

Can the filter be removed without draining all the oil? I've got a very minor leak (about 1 drop per day on the garage floor), and I suspect the oil filter cap. I know .. I think... I might have? torqued it properly.

Yeah. I replaced just my filter when I put some AutoRX in, and it only really "drained" what was inside the filter/cap along with another few ounces.

I just put it in ~400 miles ago. (It says to change your filter and then put the AutoRX in. No need to change all of your oil.)
