Hey. I need a little help with my dipstick readings. The top two notches right below the full mark are bone dry, but there is oil right above the full mark on the reader upto the point where it joins the wire-like thingie. I would really appreciate some insight.

Ok, this is going to sound stupid on my part but did you wipe the dipstick and take the reading again?

Another potentially dumb question, did you insert it "both ways" my dipstick is curved in the way the tube curves into the oil pan like an open brace: ( . If I insert it like ) I get gaped readings as well, if I push it in the way the tube curves like ( it reads fine.

Hope that is clear what I am trying to say.

I get what you're saying. My dipstick is straight and tube it feeds into is straight as well.
