Hey everyone. I recently purchased an OEM sub that works with S40/V50 and maybe other cars. I have found out that the previous owner of my car cut out one of the cables I would need in order to use this properly, so I am either going to have to get that cable somehow sliced back in or sell this. If anyone is interested I have the sub, the necessary floor supports, and the wiring kit for cars with Nav and a wiring kit for cars without Nav (I had to buy the Nav kit because the sub came with the non-Nav wiring kit). My loss can be your gain. This sub is in great shape, minus the black plastic casing was damaged (and repaired professionally). This doesn't effect the sub quality at all, and since the sub is covered by your floor no one will ever know it was repaired. I can take pics in the next few days, I just have to wrap up my finals today. IM or email me if you are interested. Thanks!

Re: OEM Subwoofer S40/V50 (nme95k)

It goes in the trunk under the floor. It is my favorite setup because it doesn't really take up that much more space, especially if you are AWD. The sub retails for $500+, and the wiring kits $50 each, and the foam floor supports $50+. You will need to go to the dealer for the software download so you can control the sub from your stock head unit. That is one of the main reasons I wanted this over an aftermarket one, it is super easy to control and it doesn't take up my precious trunk space. It's like an undercover sub.

I want it but
I can't be convinced why buying this would be a better decision than buying a near ultimate bass setup for under 300$

This sub is awesome if you want to keep your trunk space and not have a ridiculously bassy system. This helps give the sound system decent bass that can be controlled through your head unit. It is not a super heavy bass setup, but I don't think most guys on here are looking to win any speaker competitions.

Re: OEM Subwoofer S40/V50 (Modernman)

Thanks for the input. I am actually really pissed I can't use it in my car because a previous owner cut up some wires in my trunk...

Re: OEM Subwoofer S40/V50 (sanatarium)

I guess I could, I just am not even sure what the adapter piece that was cut off is called. The previous owner spliced into the cable (and subsequently made it so the OEM sub doesn't connect right) and my car has all the wiring in it for an aftermarket sub, so I figured I will just get a similar sized sub and put it in the exact same spot. I just thought someone on here would be interested in this, as I'd like to sell it to a fellow SS member instead of going to ebay or whatever.

Update:
Still up for sale, decided I don't need a sub right now so I can pay my tuition. This is a nice upgrade to the stock system and doesn't take up much room at all. Make me an offer!

Re: (Jexx)

Well, most people get quoted by their dealers for around $1k, I am looking for exactly what I paid for everything, $550 shipped to the continental US. Shipping is around $70 or so of that price. That would include the sub, the foam supports, and wiring kit (for either Nav or non-nav, just specify which your vehicle is). From my favorite dealer the cheapest quote I could get was $750 for all of that, and that was before shipping. Let me look for the pics I took a month or so ago (the condition hasn't changed). Thanks!

wow that's pretty pricey for a subwoofer, but that's volvo for you. Fair price you are selling AJ, but there is just so much better aftermarket systems you can get with that price. If you want the clean/oem install this would be ideal of course. Good luck with the sale

Re: (Vash13)

Yeah, but those aftermarket setups take up your whole trunk and are bass heavy, while this just rounds out the sound system and gives it better bass, without being overbearing or adding a ton of weight or taking up space. My buddies amp and 12" sub box weigh over 150 lbs, and they take up most of his rather large trunk in his Passat, not to mention they don't look very good because they are just sitting there in the middle of his trunk. If someone is dropping big money on a custom enclosure that conforms to their trunk sides then it would be a lot nicer, but also cost a couple grand...
If you don't need your trunk space aftermarket can be much more bass heavy.

Re: (jdsr917)

Still in the works. I've just had school expenses to cover before I could focus on it again, and that is the main reason I am selling off a ton of my stuff so I can cover the cost of the molds, as they are around $2k to get made from my prototype. It should be worth the wait.
