Does anyone know the actual thickness dimension of a new set of factory brake pads? I would like to know exactly how much wear I have experienced on my 45K miles, and therefore be able to calculate about how much life I might be able to still squeeze out of them without risking scored rotors.
(I currently have about 3/16" - 7/32" of pad remaining on the fronts and about 1/4" - 9/32" on the rears.)
TIA

Re: OEM brake pads (rotorwash)

Awe come on don't be cheap just get a comparable set of pads and throw them on there yourself. It will take less then 2 hours for all 4 with a decent set of tools and floor jack and you will be good probably to about 100k miles if you bed the pads properly, and you don't even half to replace the rotors... It would be a good idea to do a flush as well... Maybe some braided brake lines for increased performance.

It goes without saying that you are still going to be wearing down the existing rotors with a new set of pads and if the rotors are nearing their minimum thickness then they really should be replaced for safety's sake--even if they are not scored.
Each rotor should have a stamped indication, usually around the hub area, of the minimum thickness.

Just buy new pads now.
That way you can see/measure the thickness of new vs old and when you need to replace you already have the new ones on hand
