what "cable" did you get?
are you looking for an ECU upgrade? or software to view the diagnostics through the OBD-II port?

My bad. I don't think the BSR unit will allow you to view the OBD, but I could be wrong. I know that your cars factory ECU setup is stored on the BSR unit when you tune, so you might be able to plug the unit into your lap top and view info that way. Can anyone else confirm this?

Re: OBD2 - What Software (Akash)

I got the digimoto, but it's not very good with Volvo. It can see a very limited set of parameters, and the Elm sampling rate is low. There's a newer interface module and newer software version, but I have not tried them. I wish someone would hack together a piece of software that could go beyond the OBDII registers and look at the proprietary stuff like boost etc. I don't have time to do that, and I'd need to get me some proprietary info on the car to get going. So much easier with the run of the mill GMs. You can hack pretty much anything with cheap software.

well, as i suspected, the cable comes with software. you are very unlikely to see someone sell a cable without software, or vice verca.
if you don't think you want to use this software, then DONT buy the cable. you should look for software first, and it will most likely come with a cable. alex peper has a good one: http://www.obd-ii.com
i think
