O2 sensor Quick Fix: Opinions?

I'm trying to track down a cause for my Mileage/performance loss over the past few months. I thought this couldn't hurt. But I don't want to damage my O2 sensors because they will cost $300 to replace both.
Anyone tried this before? any feedback?

'96 854R: TME/IPD ECU & Catback Exhaust, K&N panel filter.
