In an attempt to clean up the existing NW GTG thread in the R Forum (four possible events so far), and per Jim Lill's request, let's try using this thread to plan the IPD GTG and the drive south from the Seattle area to Portland.
Scott Hart was nice enough to offer up IPD to host and/or participate in this event, as well as pony up one or two project cars. Depending on the date chosen, we may also have the use of a dyno and/or IPD's soon-to-be-opened service bay for onsite installs (late summer according to Scott). We owe it to Scott to nail down the date, time, location (if not at IPD) and an accurate list of attendees before getting back to him. Please post your preference for the month of the event below - once we reach a consensus on a month we can discuss specific dates and move on from there with ideas for a drive or anything else you wish to discuss (shirts, etc). Please only use the polling feature if you plan to attend, so we can maintain an accurate head count. I would like to maintain a list of attendees and send out periodic email updates. Please send me an IM if you will attend.
Let's put this event together - it should be a lot of fun!
- Tryg

Hopefully you'd be able to meet up with me somewhere south of Seattle so I don't have to backtrack. I would probably get on I-5 at Tenino.

That should be easy enough...

I'm back and forth between Shoreline and Portland every other week or so this summer. I'm not likely to take an "extra" trip down even for a GTG. I'll keep my eyes on the post, and be sure to come by IPD if I'm already in Portland.
Have fun-
Kevin

How many miles do you have on that car?

I'll roll down with whatever Volvo project we've finished, possibly a Heico XC70...

Tryg,
I've got several things going in July so August would be much better for me.
Other than a great drive, what is going to be happening at IPD?

IPD expects to have its install bay open later this summer for those interested in mods and Scott Hart mentioned the possibility of IPD hosting a dyno day for all of us. I originally hoped to arrange a group driving event through Eastern Washington and along the Columbia River, but the initial feedback I have received is that this is too long a trek for most. Overall, the interest level isn't terribly high.
I must admit I have no experience with car get-togethers, so any advice on what makes for a successful event will be appreciated.
- Tryg

September sounds good. With the GTG mid-August and the fact that iPd's install bay won't be ready until August as well I think Sept. after the Labor Day weekend sounds good.
Never saw this. Jim may prefer GTG traffic be in the Events forum but I never check it.

That would be awesome.
The interest level is not terribly high and we're certainly not reaching anything close to a consensus via this thread, so perhaps we can discuss on the 12th (for those who are attending) and take up the discussion again if there is some interested drivers. I don't think the PNW meet forum works very well - posting in one of the frequented forums seems to be the way to go.
More to follow I hope.
- Tryg
