Take rock.

Place rock in palm of hand. Throw rock hard at windshield!

but I wonder if insurance would pay for a Volvo windshield.

They have to, it's less than 4 years old

Insurance Companies are regulated state by state, and that is not everywhere. I spoke with an adjuster from Progressive yesterday about a car that had damage to the ac condenser, and the windshield from road debris. Although they authorized the OEM condenser, he said that they flat out do not use OEM glass for windshields. They would contract out with Safelite or the like to replace it.

Good luck with your windshield.
That's Progressive, you get what you pay for.

You have a B insurance company, you get B parts and service

It is a mediocre function anyway, but blaming it on the glass, come on???!!!

P.S. The 'Intermittent wiper' knob also functions with the rain sensor. Added that comment on the other thread as well.

You're wrong. The glass IS different and most (not all) aftermarket windshields wreck havoc with the rain sensor!

However, what was said above is true, just leave it turned off and use the manual intermitent feature, you DO remember how to use that, right?

For 2004's, just pop off the rain sensor cover and unplug it, (ALL 04's work awful anyway)!

Only in the 05 and later.

It still pays to disconnect the darn thing.

Tom.
You don't have to, (only 2004's), otherwise just shut it off.
2004's do not have an off-on switch for those who do not know, 05-07's do.
