I would appreciate it!
thanks

Re: noob to the "R" world (volvosince16)

Welcome aboard, mate!!
A lot of info is right... I think I lurked for about a year and a half, before I first posted.
Exhaust bracket is a must. Take the foam sock off your air filter too. Removal of your resonator (a.k.a. the "JRL" mod) is a common first step. Just take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld/clamp in a straight pipe, should only be about $70ish max. Check your drive shaft for any scoring right about the resonator edges (sure sign of a future headache).
Is yours CPO? How many miles? Options? Colour ext/int??

Earlier this week I had my JRL mod fixed as it fell apart due to clamps/cheap welding previous owner did. The shop welded my straight pipe and put another exaust hanger in the middle for more support
Post up some pictures of the ride.

Re: noob to the "R" world (s140s)

Welcome and congrats on the R!
I just sold my 05 R the other day and was thinking that you had picked it up from the dealer (it actually went to someone in the same neighborhood, how crazy would that have been?). Anyway, good to have another Austinite on the forum.

I have had nothing but good experience there and they are R competent.
I get crap in the mail all the time from some other independent Volvo shops in town, like V shop or vol-tech and couldn't tell you if they are any good. The problem is for more advanced work, you're going to need VIDA/VADIS and very few shops have it.
