Actually, there's a Rookie School (the one I attended last year) on the 25th, too. I'd go this year but we're having a party for my daughter's first birthday that afternoon. I'd whole heartedly recommend the Rookie School to anyone interested. It was a TON of fun, a great learning experience and like I said, I'd go again this year if it weren't for the scheduling conflict because I know the refresher would be awesome for a complete novice like me. It's not really an event for anyone with any experience.

Anyway, for anyone interested, the Faifield County Sports Car Club is also running a pre-season non-points AutoX on Sunday the 26th. I'm trying to figure out my schedule (since family will be coming to town for the weekend) but I think I can swing the event on Sunday.

The events are held at the Naugatuck Valley Community College. If anyone is interested let me know, I'd love to meet up!

Kurt,

It is an absolute blast. You should definitely make the trip if you have the time! The guys at the FCSCC were great, very professional, always eager to offer advice and have some fun.

Hrm...I may be down for this one. Too bad a couple of friends moved from the Waterbury/Naugatuck area. I'll have to find a hotel for a couple of nights.

I sent in my pre-registration today. I might be interested in the following day event too.

Man I got to get some new rotors before this event...

Got my confirmation for the Novice class on the 25th. I'm being put in the E class
Street prepared. I checked to see what I'd be up against and I think they put me in the wrong class. There are some fairly lame cars in that class.

http://moutons.org/sccasolo/Lists/2006/stockc.html Scroll down to the "E" class and look what I'm up against. I think I'm supposed to be in "D" class.
Oh well, I should be able to beat the other cars in E class if there are any.

Eric, if all goes well, I'll be back on Sunday.....will you be there, how about you Ron? Ron if you are going, let me know and I'll bring your jack stands that I have had for almost a year. Getting ready to sell them in a tag sale

Unless you're modified, you should definitely be in D Stock (not E). This is straight from SCCA: http://www.scca.com/_Filelibra...e.pdf

The link you provided was to "Stock" classes though, not "Street Prepared" classes. If you're modded, then you might fall into Street Prepared and your class would be "E Street Prepared" Here's the correct link on the Mouton's site: http://moutons.org/sccasolo/Li...html# and also on SCCA: http://www.scca.com/_Filelibra...e.pdf

I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with family on Sunday, but I think I'm going to be able to make it.
I'd really like to attend Saturday, but that's just not going to happen. I'm going to need pointers from you on how to run the course!

That's the website. I just went to watch one yesterday (I'm home in NC for the week) and now I'm dying to give it a try. Looks like a blast. Here's a cool car from yesterday's event:

Steve and his 1971 Volvo "1800" .. was fun watching him drive that around.
