Re: Nokian Tires (VR04)

I ran their RSI snow tires this past winter - not bad. Here was the write-up

Re: Nokian Tires (VR04)

I have 3 sets of Nokian winter tires in my household right now . . . RSI (on wife's Subie), Hakka 2 (on my old Saab 9000), & WR XL on my '05 V70R.
The WR is the best match for the R . . . very pleased with those tires in all conditions, & turn-in is good for a tire that is severe-service (deep snow) rated. XL gets you extra load rating. You can leave the WR model on the car year-round, if you don't want to swap summer/winter tires & rims.
The other Nokian models I've driven provide good traction in snow, but feel sort of soft compared to the V-rated WR XL.
No experience with Nokian's summer tires.
- Mark
