Thanks for feedback yesterday.
The noise in my car sounds, but at a gretly lesser volume, like a jet engine winding up getting ready for takeoff....like that whirring and somewhat high pitched whining...as I turn the key it starts up and reaches a steady state while I drive,,,it sounds like it is right behind the instrument panel. No air or radio or other controls have an affect on it.
If you know what this noise portends please let me know...I would appreciate.

Re: Noise questions part 2 (bdoon51)

There is a cabin temperature sensing fan, right behind the climate control console. You can see the INTAKE vent just above the right hand temperature control. Could be that the bearings are going south, out of balance etc. Put your finger over the vent when you hear the noise. If the noise changes, that is it.

Re: Noise questions part 2 (Needsdecaf)

Thanks...I do not think it was the cabin temperature fan as I tried that technique and there was no change,,,,,I am assuming if it is the ECU cooling fan,,, why is it making this noise? Does this mean a replacement?...I should still be under warranty since it is a 2006 with only 26k miles. Just a pain in the ___ to deal with ....hopefully I can get it down while waiting?
