over flat ,smooth surfaces?/ or only over rough, slighty bumby surfaces?

flat smooth.
I have a similar noise that comes when someone is sitting in the front passenger seat....rubs a little when going over bumpy spots at lower speeds and if I hit a dip on the highway. I was changing the oil the other day and noticed that the bottom of the passenger strut had fluid on its underside where the driver's side did not
I'm afraid to look up what this is going to cost. Did you check to see if there was anything leaking?

a leaky strut usually a sign of a busted strut check your end link as well. My old s60 used to squeak on the passenger side seat, it was the seat itself. If you have to replace your strut call darryl waltrip volvo in TN i got mine for $325 each shipped ask for Don in parts tell him you are a swedespeed member. the number is 18006890021
