Hey guys, I checked with Volvo's PR department today, and there'll be no Volvo homecoming at HQ in Jersey this year. Volvo, as you may know, is moving to California, and since most of the employees will be preparing for the move, the show has been put canceled for this year.

Well, I am not sure about going too far, but another GTG would be nice. I would like to do a GTG and maybe a swap meet thing. I now have 16" wheels and tires to get rid of, a spoiler, and other misc parts to be sold. I'm sure evryone has a collection of stuff to bring to the table as well. Just a thought. Once things cool off for me at work a bit, I may be able to help coordinate something. Also, will swedespeed be making stickers anytime soon? I know of several people that would put the name on their cars.
Prospero

I'm looking into doing it now. I have some money to budget for it, and thanks guys, I appreciate the support. I'll try to get some ordered very soon.
On the show, I'd be open to trying to have something, and perhaps we can talk a dealer into hosting it?

Arhhh...nice neat feature, now I don't have to type out my username and psswd every time I leave msg. Or was it b/c I cleared out the cookie?
Anywayz, I think it would be nice if we can prepare for an event like that. Of course we probably can't get the crowd to be nearly as big as VCNA's party, but it would be nice if we can at least make it as respectable as or even better than the local Acura crowds.
Hey..I do love just few of us get together and take a cruise in the backroads, but it would be even more fun to have 30+ Volvo driving down the street.
I seriously would like to promote this site more than the others. If George can make some stickers, that looks as good as the one on the screen, we don't mind tipping in few $$ for the stickers.
BTW, George..you gotta do the article about Rob's car..that thing looks wild~! It sure has its own style.

Hey boys let me know if you are going to have a large get together and I will make it down. I will be at the Volvo show this weekend in London Ontario with 150 other show cars, representing Swedespeed, hey George hope you do not mind I downloaded the Swedespeed logo and put it on a cover sheet I had made for display, I have a clear plastic promotion stand from our showroom that goes under the tire and curves up, it usually has the spec sheet for the new car but it will hold my sheet that has the info on the car and at the bottom the logo will be for people to check out the site. A sticker would be cool as well keep me informed. See ya!

Wow, that's awesome. I don't know if you have a digital camera, but if you shoot the event and want to write it up, I'll be more than happyt to run an article on it.
I've been thinking of having some flyers made as well, I'll have to work on that. We handed some out for VWvortex at a VW event last weekend, and you could see a lot more people coming in.
While I love this site, I think we can all agree that it'd be nice to have some more Volvophiles on board. We'll have to work on that. Thanks Sean.

I do not have a digital camara but I did take pictures, I will get them done and scan them, if they turn out I will forward them along with a story. The car won the peoples choice award in the 700/800/900 class, this class is one that I requested be split next year but since I won this time I will let it go. It was fun, over 160 cars and the display for the car went over well from the spec sheet stand to the photo album that included the Swedespeed boys pics. This was the first extended trip with the new upgrades and man do they perform the car has gobbs of passing power, I drove down with 3 other cars from Ottawa and had a blast on the road for 6hrs each way. Lots of intrest in the web site so we may have some more visitors. Another show will be held in August 26th in Pickering Ontario just outside Toronto, I have not been to this one before but I was told it was more for cars like ours not so much vintage iron, not that that is a bad thing but none the less you will have a different crowd. Anyway thats all for now I will see about those pics and story, see ya.

Sounds like the Volvo scene up your way is a lot more active than the USA. The Volvo homecoming and VSA events are pretty much all there is for us Volvophiles on the East Coast of the USA.
