I had my dealer search for local VOR's that had the versatility pkg but none were found. I also wanted one manufactured after 12/10. All the VOR's had been manufactured in Sep/Oct and had not been received in the dealerships until January (Auto show display models?).
My main point is that 2 weeks ago, the Volvo ordering system let the dealership earmark a vehicle for me on the production line with the options I wanted. What is up with that? That is bad business practice. Does Volvo want my business? I feel I have a good right to be very upset. I love the car. It's features and reputation are un-paralleled. I don't believe that I can directly blame the dealership but they could of been on top of the issue from the start. I am disheartened with Volvo. They have pulled my car out from under me.

Bob,
would you relax for a moment and not act like the world has ended? First of all, the booster seats are not available with the Ocean Race XC> Same goes for the 3rd seat (biggest part of the Versatility package). They never were...The third seat can be installed at the dealership. And what is with the 12/10 production date?
Second, why are you so disheartened and mad at Volvo? The system is computerized and will accept pretty much anything as a Retailer puts in an order. That does not mean that the order has been accepted by the factory plant...The confirmation comes within one or two days or whe the "last date of change" (a.k.a. LDOC) passes by. Instead of being disheartened, mad or whatever and since you love the car so much ask your dealership to look for one or trade for one. If they cannot or do not want to, find one who will! For goodness sake...I will send you one provided you pay for the shipping! There are some Ocean Race cars out there, it's not like ALL of them are gone! Focus your efforts in trying to get one not in blaming others...If you channel your efforts appropriately, I bet you will be driving an Ocean Race XC in less than 2 weeks!
Good luck!
Yannis
