Here we go, thanks NJ850N/A for sending me these pics of his V70 T5 BOV project:

quote:
It's done. First, I want to say thanks to Johann for providing the information on how to do it, it was really inspiring. Now, the details. Stock intercooler pipe from the turbo to intercooler inlet is 2.25", my new pipe is 2.375", made with stainless steel 304 grade. From the outside, it looks exactly like the stock tube, all the bends and the outer wall diameter, most of all, the stock mounting holes retain, so the fit and finish is 100% perfect.
Even dealer wouldn't know I upgrade the inner wall, that's the cheat there. The HKS SSQV is louder than I expected, even with all windows up, closed sunroof, I can still hear it every time I let off the throttle. One thing I want to point out is, especially to Johann, it doesn't bog down or anything, it's as smooth as before with the stock valve, I don't understand why. But hey, as long as it drives like stock, it's all good, right? Anyway, I will ask InDy if he would like to post the pictures for me of my little project, so you can see what I am talking about.

-Drew

Indy,
First, I want to say thank you to you for taking your time and posting the pics for me, and second for encouraging me to stick to the board, maybe I should give it a try again. Nothing is perfect. Oh, in T-minus 30 mins, should have my boost gauge installed with the custom mount, my "right-hand" (auto enthusiast) said I will be really happy when I see it, since we all can see how good looking the intercooler pipe he made me, I should have faith in him.
Johann,
Thanks again man, if it wasn't you, I couldn't have done it. I tightened the BOV knob for half a turn, it feels slightly better, but the RPM still goes down a tiny little bit before it can catch up with "what it's supposed to be at" level. Don't know if I should tighten the knob for another 0.25 turn or just leave it. What's your opinion on that? For the boost gauge, I think you will be excited when you see where I mount my boost gauge, and if you are interested, I will ask my guy how he exactly did it, so if some of us here are thinking about doing some like this, they know the procedures.
Well, InDy, clean up your email account, looks like a few more pics will be coming your way.
[This message has been edited by NJ850N/A (edited 08-12-2002).]

Hmmmm
Had 3 of them in the S60
One analog on the pillar, one SCT Digital in the dash message display and one in the BC.
I removed the analog last week and now I only use the one from the BC because it has a peak and hold function which is very nice.
Johann,
I am not sure how the Euro version interior setup of the S60 is like, especially the area left to the radio, I think you guys have like a hand free cell phone keypad there or something? Not sure. Anyway, for the beautiful United States, we can either have a third cup holder or an useless spot to slide your cell phone in. What I had was the third cup holder, I don't use it anyway, so I took it out, use a piece of aluminum as gauge holder and put the gauge there, looks good, but unfortunately, the fit is a bit off (I am picky.), so he will have to machine another piece of it for me tomorrow, and I hope it fits perfect. When it passes my "picky eyes" test, I will snap some shots.
[This message has been edited by NJ850N/A (edited 08-12-2002).]
