So I googled V70 R just now and came across this photo of the new V70.
http://www.carspyshots.net/showthread.php?t=12520
Anyone seen this before? Any opinions?
I think it looks good, if nothing else it would be nice to see a regular V70 like this. I'd definately drive it!

I like. A lot. Agree looks better in black IMHO but I actually like the green as well. Not sure if I'd buy that color, though.

I think that the current V70 is just getting too heavy. The rumor mill out in Sweden is suggesting that a V60 sound happen at some point, now that would be strange and interesting.

Its a p-shop.
I actually like the 2-tone approach and I thought the green was cool for a concept...not that I'd buy it.
-Eric

In all reality, the most likely R model, not that it would happen either, would be a C30R, just pop in the R engine like Ford is doing in the Focus RS and bang. Not an R in the way we know it, but the rumor mill is always spinning that possibility. Most likely sport seats and the engine would be it.

Re: Next V70R? (adykes)

Hey, any "R" that's a real "R" is still an "R". For personal reasons, I'd like it to be built on an S60-sized chassis -- even if its a coupe/cabrio. I'd also like it to retain AWD but only time will tell what we get, if anything. A LOT will depend on who buys them!
-Eric

I stick with my '07 thank you.

Thew new CTS-V is nice but if I'm spending that kind of money, I'll go Audi or BMW. The handling might get a great write-up but the interior materials just don't compare.
-Eric

What is it with you and your AWD being a necessity.
I need at least ONE AWD because of my driveway and street, you already have one so what's the big deal?
Now many of you have to be out on the 1st day of snow plus you live very close to your work, don't you?
(A G8 GT is quite nice)

I agree that the front end on the G8 has improved over say the front on the G6 and the solstace.
I still prefer this front though:
http://www.holden.com.au/vehic...eries

JRL, personally, I love the performance nature of AWD. Now, that has to be taken in balance here, because my preference would be a RWD biased AWD system. My personal list in order would be:
RWD biased AWD
FWD biased AWD
RWD
FWD
This is for my daily driver / all around car. For a fun weekend car I'd go RWD without batting an eye.
