Re: Newest addition, pics of Heico chrome mirror covers installed (t6tim)

I am not a big fan of chrome but if you like it, why not?
At the very least it matches the mirrors on your S80.

Re: Newest addition, pics of Heico chrome mirror covers installed (AccuView)

Thank ya sir...Yeah, the XC90 started to get all dramatic when the S80 got "blinged up", so we gave in and let her be blinged too.
The wife loves the new addition.
Tim

Hey Tim,
It looks GREAT! I have them on mine.
The only issue I had was the driver side popped off once when I was folding in the mirrors. I used clear silicone with the double stick tape and all is good.
What size tires are you running with your 19"s????
I love the way your Heico wheels look with the lowered suspension.

I have the Pirelli Scorpions. Great wear, traction, and wet weather performance, but not the smoothest ride in the world. I may go with michelins when these go ka-poot.
Thanks for the kind words. My wife drove past me today while I was at a signal, I looked and was amazed what a difference the mirror covers make. She has little viking emblems everywhere!
Next up: getting the Heico dual dvd headrest screens installed in my S80. This will be detailed in the audio forum next week.
HUGE to customer service at Heico, Todd's the man.
Tim

Can do an internet search for DOOR-MIRROR-COVER-R-DESIGN-MATTE-TYPE-FOR-VOLVO-XC70-V70XC-XC90, not shiny but at least you have an option in this space at $100 for the pair.

A week or so ago, I decided to purchase the item above (a pair) at the big auction site for $100 including expedited shipping (from Taiwan) and the covers arrived today. Box was marked Long Serng, and they are about as close to exact for the matte (silk) finish on the Sport trim as I've ever seen outside of OE, excellent build quality and direct fit as well.

Put a coat of wax on before installing, we'll see how well the finish lasts, I'll keep the OE covers on hand regardless.

Can see photos here https://goo.gl/photos/JEAvFXf4kTr4jDxr6, will add some outside shots to the link when the weather clears.

OE retail is $200 each (OE reseller is ~ $146 each plus shipping) so if these last a few years and continue to look near OE in quality, ought to be a consideration. Let's see.

I also purchased a pair of these mirror covers on eBay (Long Serng branding) earlier this year, and can attest to their quality. I ended up going for a color-matched OEM cover from Volvo in the end, but these are a great buy for those that have been looking for the matte chrome covers at a good price.

I quite like them! They remind me of the AUDI S4, S6, S8... the S always came with them. I think they look great on a Sport since they match the front grille.

As a side note, if you look closely at the last photos with both cars, the car on the left is one of the few XC90s you'll see with no sunroof in the US. It's a 5 seater, Black 019, Charcoal fabric interior, single CD, 5 cylinder, AWD. All of the normal functions, just no package frills. Another person said they had one in white, first time I've known of more than my own.
