At any rate, we hope to see you around here more and please share some picture with us when you can and let us know what you are into;Modding, styling, audio, whatever, and we can help you get started.
Oh, and as some of the guys at my local car club said "Man...those volvos, although not well know or really flashy sure look sexy now and are damn rock solid!"

Re: Newbie Here, just got my 2005 S40 today (eurotrash)

She was getting old and I wanted to make a change, I went to check the Audi's, the BMW's (to get the new style I would have to sell a kidney), Mercedes, and then I went to Volvo. My wife felt in love with the design of the S40 and start "suggesting" that I should get it. I went for a test drive and I liked how the car handled. Now I need to play with the sway bars to create a neutral car, like a BMW, and of course my first mod will be the BSR power increase.

Congrats on your wife's choice
IMHO extra power won't do you any good until you dump stock tires. They are crap and can't handle stock torque, no point in adding more spin and smoke.
Welcome to the forum

Re: Newbie Here, just got my 2005 S40 today (d_man)

Any idea of an ideal tire for our babies? I am moved towards performance first on this new ride, I will not change the anything in the interior, and I will put the cosmetic stuff at the end.
With that said, then I guess that my endeavor will be tires, sways and bushings, then the chip and then the exhaust. Any suggestion on the course of action?

I've put my 2nd set of Falken 512 on my V50. not as good as Conti , Conti 2 (had both) but is an amazing comprimize between performance and all season capability. so if it's all seasons you want , Falken 512s are nice but if you don't need the same tires for snow , there are several others much better. conti 3 for example ,
sorry probably don't get much snow in TX , conti 3 should be nice

Avon Tech M550 A/S
I am a firm believer in these tires now. They corner very well, next to no road noise, soft sidewalls soften up the ride a ton (especially if you have the sport suspension), they stick in wet and dry conditions very well (havent tried em in the snow yet but the customer reviews praise them). And you cant beat the price at 103$ from tirerack.
Check em out, http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...ng=YR
Im not the only one who likes em

Re: (S40FUN)

Enjoy! I was a VW guy (meaning I had a Golf and loved it, then figured I'd get VW or Audi again). But I chose the V50. It's everything I thought it would be and more.
One great aftermarket thing that's more affordable than the ECU change is the IPD rear sway bar. There's about a thousand topics on this forum on this subject. It helps improve handling a lot, from raw FWD with lots of understeer to something more responsive and neutral.

Help, I have the pics, but I don't know how to put them in the post. I have searched, but I guess that I am way dumb to not understand the explanation on how to post it.
