Out of curiosity, what model year is your Ocean Race XC60? I thought the OR editions only came around every second year to coincide with the actual Volvo Ocean Race. And with MY15 being the last year the OR editions were available (I think), I was assuming they wouldn't come around until MY17 models. Thing might be different in European markets.
According to all the paperwork mine is a model year 2016....built end June 2015. Collected today with 14kms on the clock!
An amazing customer experience from start to finish! Was loaned a temp xc60 free of charge, for 10 days whilst I decided on a new car and did the deal. Was given a 1hr test drive to familiarise myself with the Adaptive Cruise Control...All staff from showroom to mechanics to were incredibly helpful.
On arrival this morning we were greeted with coffee and given a 1.5hr walk through the car, every single detail covered in a private viewing room. Then my wife was presented with a huge bunch of flowers and off we went...
Hats off to Aaretal Garage in Münsingen, Switzerland..They had it down to a fine art, a proper presentation that made you feel like you had invested your hard earned cash wisely and sensibly, first class!!!!

Thanks for the information and pictures Doc Spoons. Went onto the Volvo International website and yes - OR editions are available for MY16 models for the V40/V40CC, V60 & XC60. Having OR editions available continuously is obviously something that's only available in select markets. Certainly not available in the Australian market for MY16. Really love the OR editions with a V60 in OR blue being my dream car.
As an aside how do you find the D4 AWD? I understand this is a detuned version of the 2.4l 5 cylinder D5 diesel which - besides also being available in the XC60 here in Australia - is also used in V60CC D4 AWD we have here. Any reason why you chose the D4 AWD over the D5 AWD given they have the same fuel efficiency (at least they do in Australia). I'm also aware there is a Polestar tune for this D4 engine which boosts the power from 190 to 220hp.
It appears that the US received a limited batch of 2015.5's in either T6 I6 AWD or T6 Drive-e FWD. You had a choice of beige or dark gray interior and only the Ocean Race Blue exterior paint. We have the T6 I6 AWD with dark interior.
It's very interesting to see it in silver and produced for the 2016 model year. I wonder if they are continuing limited production in Europe while they work through remaining OR specific parts?
For me the D4 is firstly a little better on diesel, runs a little smoother and is quieter in the cabin. Figures suggest the D5 with auto box returns around 44.1 mpg and the D4 53.2mpg with a lower Co2 emission which is also important over here in Swissland. For the real life figures i'll need a few days driving to compare but, after 10 days in the D5 I was around the 44-46 mpg mark.
I know the power hike in the D5 makes a difference but the strict speeding laws on Swiss roads were always catching me out in my T5, I could do with a few hundred bucks less fines in the next year.
For autobahn cruising and hitting the snow in ski season around the alps, the D4 is more than capable for our needs and will be a significant saving fuel wise over my V50 T5 HEICO so I'm happy
